The Power of Ritual in Dreaming our Witch to Life

“Any ritual is an opportunity for transformation. To do a ritual, you must be willing to be transformed in some way. The inner willingness is what makes the ritual come alive and have power.” - Starhawk

Ritual is a sacred part of the route from Secret Witch to Liberated Witch.  It’s crucial to the journey of reclaiming your Wild Witch - and that’s because ritual offers us the possibility to transform.  Repeating our devotion to who we long to become as a daily practice is the way that we begin to fully embody and express who we really are - it’s a way of honouring our commitment to the woman we long to become - whether that is to speak out our heart’s longings and our intentions, or whether it’s to dress as our Witch Archetype to fully embody Her (see Nicole’s Facebook for more on this - in fact, this can be our next blog post as it’s a topic all of its own!).  Ritual is the way of the powerful Creatrix (which, really, is who the Witch Archetype is, after all).

And so, as part of our new regular New Moon Newsletter (if you’re not yet signed up, you’ll want to be, so head to the bottom of this website and pop in your details), my lovely Connection Creatrix (Michelle) and I are planning to bring you a monthly ritual in order to offer you some first steps into creating a ritual of your own to begin cementing some of your devotions.

We’re birthing this *fully* just as we also release the NEW Manifesting with the Moon New Moon Circle - which is a monthly moon ritual event that Nicole is offering to deepen your journey.  You can check it out and order your free tickets HERE.  MWTM is where you can get up-close and intimate with Nicole as she shares her wild alchemy wisdom, whilst holding you as you take your tender first steps into the path of liberating your Wild Witch and manifesting the magical life your unique soul longs for.

Anyway, for now, I wanted to offer you the first ritual that the wonderful Michelle lovingly created for you - enjoy!  Here’s some love from Michelle...

A Rose Magic Ritual for Liberation

Following on from a post Nicole’s created about childhood magic, I realised that I don’t have to learn rituals to be worthy enough to create them - which is something that had always held me back from diving into the practice of ritual!

I’ve realised that since childhood, I’ve been the creator of my own rituals and that is magical - and yet, somewhere along the way I stopped being my full witchy expression as I thought I had to get it “right”.

So, this month, I invite you to create your own New Moon Ritual - and if you’re looking for some guidance, here is mine to help inspire you!  Feel free to use parts of it and substitute anything that feels more aligned for you.

You will need: 2 x roses, a glass jar and water (previously boiled and still warm, and some cold water for rinsing the roses).

How to do the ritual:

  1. Firstly, take a relaxing bath, with your favourite bubbles or oils, so that you feel cleansed and refreshed - setting the intention that your mind is focused for you to work your magic.

  2. Find yourself a quiet space, ideally outside, but if that is not possible then inside is perfectly fine - after all it is your ritual and whatever you decide to design is perfect.

  3. Clap your hands to cleanse your space, and settle down to visualise and create your intentions. The New Moon is a perfect time to think about your expansion, who you long to become and the new experiences you long to call in, so we harness this powerful energy to choose to set new *intentions*.  This can be in the direction of anything that you long to create - such as starting a new course or hobby; maybe you would like to take a new path, progress in your chosen career or even start a new business.  Whatever you long for, this is the time to begin to invite it in.  *And*, if you can’t quite connect to what your intentions are, that’s okay too - you could also set the intention to simply get clearer on your heart’s desires for the life you long to create and the woman you long to become.

  4. Take the two roses you prepared and give thanks to Her for allowing you to use Her petals for your ritual, and carefully rinse the flowers in cold water.

  5. Intentionally remove each petal, one by one, and place them gently in the jar - as you are filling the jar, with each rose petal, speak your intentions out to the Moon.  You may want to imagine each intention flying up to the universe.

  6. Once all the petals are in the jar, pour the warm water over the petals and pop on a lid or seal the jar with paper and string.  Leave the jar out overnight as a gift to the Moon.

  7. Thank the Moon for listening to your heart’s longings and then listen out for the aligned actions to co-create the magic you long for.  Your magical transformation awaits…

You can drain the petals from the water the next day and use the water to nourish your plants or cleanse your crystals, or you may even use it in another ritual!  It’s such magic for liberation.  Enjoy the process - and, if you’ve enjoyed this, we’d love to hear about your personal ritual experience - why not head over to our Secret Witch Circle Facebook Group and share with us?

Much love,

Michelle xoxo
